AZ-5 Republican primary update

Arizona’s 5th congressional district Republican primary was supposed to be one of the most exciting races we have seen in a long time. To date, it has been very quiet in actuality. Things seem to be picking up though as the primary date is quickly approaching. Here are some updates we have received.

Laura Knaperek has picked up another endorsement for her primary campaign as state Representative Warde Nichols had endorsed her race. Nichols represents LD21 which is included in Arizona’s 5th.

David Schweikert has announced he has now raised over $925K from 1600 individual contributors. Schweikert has also picked up the endorsements from the Arizona Police Association, Arizona Medical Association and the Arizona Right to Life.

Last week we reported on Schweikert’s new television ad being paid for by the Club for Growth. The limited ad buy, which will be run on Fox News Channel a total of 61 times in two weeks, costs the Club $5,057.

Jim Osgbury continues his door knocking efforts. Ogsbury has now knocked on more than 20,000 doors throughout the district. (Anyone who has ever managed a congressional campaign is asking themselves right now, how come I never had a candidate willing to do that.) The feat is even more impressive when you remember he is doing this in Arizona in August. Ogsbury has also released a new web ad about his efforts which you can see below.
