Laura Knaperek has endorsed apparent 5th Congressional District Republican primary winner David Schweikert.

“I congratulate David on a hard fought victory in the Republican primary,” Knaperek said in a statement. “We Republicans must unite behind David as he works to put CD 5 back in the Republican column."

The results of Tuesday's primary remain unofficial, but currently Schweikert holds a slight lead over Susan Bitter Smith, who garnered the second most votes in the six-way primary. Knaperek came in a distant third. 

"David Schweikert has my full support," continued Knaperek. "Unlike [incumbent U.S. Rep.] Harry Mitchell, I know David will work hard to bring fiscal discipline and real energy reform to Washington.”
