Barrett Marson shuts up

Former GOP House Spokesman Barrett Marson was always quick with a quote, and never short on something to say.  In his current role as DOC spokesman, however, well…

For all the people who wondered if Barret Marson could ever keep quiet, here’s ten seconds of dead air while he fumbles for a response on last night’s television news (1:26 into the video, which can be found to the right of the story).

The “hardball” question that silenced the loquacious Marson?  “Will early release of prisoners make us less safe?”

Rematch!

On last week's episode of the PBS show Horizon, Emily Bittner, communications director for the Arizona Democratic Party, came after House Republican Caucus spokesman Barrett Marson's boss, House Speaker Jim Weiers (R-Phoenix), in a big way, accusing him of predatory lending practices at his loan company that cost families their homes.

It clearly didn't sit well with Marson, who took the gloves off in last night's rematch with Bittner on the program. Watch the fireworks as the feud between these two heats up:

Proxy war

Not since Ali/Frasier has there been a more anticipated contest of single combat than last night's Horizon appearance of AZ House GOP spokesman Barrett Marson and AZ Democratic Party Press Secretary Emily Bittner, the state's two most engaging and outspoken flacks.
