It bears repeating

by David Safier
This morning, commenter Ellis compiled a list of the ways Yarbrough is benefiting financially from the tuition tax credit laws. There's nothing new here, but it's a clear, simple list, allowing us to see the profit forest formed from all the individual trees. And it includes one item I've only seen here at BfA: the $125,000 Yarbrough's STO spent to make improvements to the business condo Yarbrough owns.

If you need a refresher course, here it is.

Basically, an STO is a processing company. [Yarbrough] pays himself quite handsomely with a $96K/salary. BUT, he needs to write off more on the front end to use up all that 10% allotment.

The Bob Stump story

by David Safier
Now that the Tucson Weekly has expanded the scope of the STO story from Steve Yarbrough to Bob Stump, let's take a look at how Bob Stump figures in.

One of the two School Tuition Organizations housed in Yarbrough's business condo, School Choice Arizona (SCA), deals only with corporate tax credit donations. Yarbrough has no direct connection with School Choice Arizona, though it pays him rent and uses the services of his company, HY Processing.

In 2007, while Bob Stump was a state representative, School Choice Arizona paid him $57,000 for fundraising. Since SCA raises corporate tax credit money, this meant that Bob Stump was going around to corporations asking them to write checks to SCA.

Face it…We Need A New Strategy

The Arizona Republican Party is in need of a makeover…

Some might even say an extreme makeover.  I would like to think that with a new focus on building our Party and working against the Democrats rather than fighting amongst ourselves, we can be not only prepared in numbers for 2010 and beyond, but we can be significant on many fronts.

Lisa James is a proven leader.

Lisa is well-respected across the state for her hard work on the Bush campaigns and within the Party for her experience, skills and knowledge to ramp up registration, increase the donor base, and bring home the vote without compromising the Party Platform.
