David Weigel at the Windy happened to catch the latest idea from the militiamen who are starting to see their paranoid ranks rising:

A peaceful demonstration of at least a million — hey, if we can 10 million, even better — but at least one million armed militia men marching on Washington. A peaceful demonstration. No shooting, no one gets hurt. Just a demonstration. The only difference from any typical demonstration is we will all be armed.

I told you earlier this week about the wingnuttia talking point of the week, Obama's greeting of Venezuela strong man Hugo Chavez. "OMG! He shook his hand!" Apparently this is a sign of the pending Apocalypse and the end of the world as we know it.

This wingnuttia talking point advanced by Dr. Newt "The Professor" Gingrich and repeated ad naseum within the wingnuttia mighty Wurlitzer echo chamber of Faux News is that treating our opponents in the world with simple courtesy and a willingness to speak to them face-to-face is a sign of American weakness and threatens our national security.

Wingnuttia, led by Dr. Newt "The Professor" Gingrich said Obama's handshake with Venezuela strong man Hugo Chavez poses a grave threat to our national security. During an interview on The Today Show Monday morning, Gingrich responded to a question this way:

Q: But we certainly have mended relationships with countries that have hated us in the past. Russia comes to mind, China comes to mind.

GINGRICH: But we didn't rush over, smile, and greet Russian dictators.
