Tea Party Temper-Tantrum

Posted by AzBlueMeanie:

Rhonda Bodfield of the Arizona Daily Star has a report today about the faux outrage coming from the Tucson Tea Party over being "slandered" by the use of the term "teabagger." Potential sexual slur in release raises Tea Partiers' ire; Uhlich apologizes This is known as manufacturing a story from nothing.

Let me help you out with a little research you obviously did not do, Rhonda. It was the Tea Party Patriots and their free advertising promotions at Faux News who first used the term "teabaggers" as you can see from this report below from the Rachel Maddow Show from this past April.

The Mad Haters Tea Party

Posted by AzBlueMeanie:

The mad haters of the Tucson Tea Party will be holding a little soirre Saturday to compare new and creative ways of "how to hate Barack Obama even more!" at Tucson Electric Park. So much hate, so little time. (And a desicration of a cathedral of baseball.)

The teabaggers will not be drinking tea, however, but will be drinking their usual daily dose of Kool-Aid from Faux News (Judge Andrew Napolitano) and right-wing talk radio (Jim Parisi, J.D. Hayworth, James T. Harris). The first step to recovery from an addiction is to admit that you have a problem. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid.

The GOP Fact-Free Alernate Reality (Health Care Reform Edition)

Posted by AzBlueMeanie:

"A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes." -- Mark Twain

There was a time in this country when Democrats and Republicans could disagree with one another philosophically about public policy in reality-based arguments. (Watch some old Meet The Press episodes from the 1960s for some historical perspective.) Those days are gone.

The modern Republican Party has abandoned any pretense to membership in the reality-based world for their own fact-free "alternate reality." In an October 17, 2004 article for the New York Times Magazine, author Ron Suskind quoted an unnamed aide to George W.

GOP Astroturf for K Street Lobbyists and the Status Quo

Posted by AzBlueMeanie:

The health insurance industry lobbyists, right-wing political action committees, and the RNC are orchestrating an Astroturf campaign to disrupt townhall meetings of Democratic members of Congress to create YouTube moments for the easily gullible and incompetent mainstream media to report as public opposition to health care reform. The people who show up at these meetings would have you believe that their agitprop performance art is spontaneous and genuine. Bullshit. In some parts of the country these agitators have been bussed in by their corporate lobbyist sponsors.

The corporate lobbyists for America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) and right-wing political action committees, in particular Americans for Prosperity and

What Liberal Media? Washington Post Sacks Dan Froomkin

Posted by AzBlueMeanie:

What she said! Nicole Belle at crooksandliars.com nails it. What Liberal Media? Washington Post Sacks Dan Froomkin:

The Washington Post is dead to me:

(T)he Washington Post has terminated its relationship with liberal columnist/blogger Dan Froomkin. Froomkin authored the "White House Watch" blog and was told today that the blog had essentially run its course.

Washington Post Media Communications Director Kris Coratti tells POLITICO that "our editors and research teams are constantly reviewing our columns, blogs and other content to make sure we're giving readers the most value when they are on our site while balancing the need to make the most of our resources.

Clinton crushes wingnuttia talking point of the week

Posted by AzBlueMeanie:

I told you earlier this week about the wingnuttia talking point of the week, Obama's greeting of Venezuela strong man Hugo Chavez. "OMG! He shook his hand!" Apparently this is a sign of the pending Apocalypse and the end of the world as we know it.

This wingnuttia talking point advanced by Dr. Newt "The Professor" Gingrich and repeated ad naseum within the wingnuttia mighty Wurlitzer echo chamber of Faux News is that treating our opponents in the world with simple courtesy and a willingness to speak to them face-to-face is a sign of American weakness and threatens our national security.

Much Ado About Nothing: The Truth About Income Taxes

Posted by AzBlueMeanie:

For all the sound and fury generated by the corporate sponsored, right-wing media driven "income tax protest" tea parties asserting that Americans are "overtaxed," the reality is just the opposite: it turns out it was all much ado about nothing.

Arizona's income-tax rates are among the lowest in the U.S.:

The Arizona Republic used income-tax rates collected by the non-profit Tax Foundation to see how Arizona stacked up with other states at three taxable-income levels: $50,000, $150,000 and $1 million. At each level, Arizona had lower tax bills than all but three to six states.

Arizona's highest tax rate targeting the well-off is fifth-lowest in the nation; that rate kicks in at a higher level than all but seven states.

CNN reporter exposes tea parties as GOP-organized right-wing Obama haters

Posted by AzBlueMeanie:

Watch and learn boys and girls, CNN reporter Susan Roesgen demonstrates how a real reporter covers this corporate Astroturf non-event. Congratulations to Roesgen for having the guts to call out these tea bag protesters as the GOP-organized group of right-wing Obama haters that they are. And she reminds viewers that the tea parties were "highly promoted by the right-wing conservative Network Fox."

Hard to expose this fraud any better than this. Terrific job:

The first guy interviewed says Obama is a "fascist" but he cannot explain why. Hmm, maybe because Jonah Goldberg, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and the rest of the clowns at Faux News told him to say this?

The second guy interviewed says he is protesting because he believes in what Lincoln stood for.
