Epic Media Failure (Again!) in reporting on Health Care Reform

The media villagers and Beltway bloviators issued a series of mea culpas to the public in recent years for their unquestioning, and often enabling (in some cases propaganda) reporting on the build up to the war in Iraq and cheerleading the housing bubble economy. They told us, "we're sorry we failed you, we'll do better next time."

Right. That's like a meth addict saying "this is the last time, I promise." They can't help themselves, it is the nature of their addiction.

So, once again, the media villagers and Beltway bloviators have engaged in an epic media failure in reporting on health care reform.

Rep. Grijalva: Public Option is Key to Health Care Reform

Rep. Raul Grijalva and Rep. Mike Honda penned the following guest opinion on the Politico blog Public option is key to health reform:

Seventy-two percent of the American people support a robust public health insurance option that is available to everyone. A public option is good for our families, is good for the American economy and is supported by the American public. As Congress moves forward with health care reform legislation this summer, we must include in our final reform package a robust public option linked to an existing federal provider network — for example, the Medicare network.

The current system is broken.
