There once was a political operative who loved to tell crowds he had a simple way of explaining to children the difference between Republicans and Democrats.

"Republicans get up and go to work," he would tell his son. "Democrats get up and go down to the mailbox to get their checks."

This man not only talked to his son about Republican values, he went into public-school classrooms and talked about them as well.

That man is Jim Greer — the same Jim Greer who, as chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, just threw a nationwide hissy fit, claiming that the classroom is no place for politics and Barack Obama's "indoctrination.

Democrat Scott Murphy has won the open congressional seat in NY-20. Republican Jim Tedisco finally did the honorable thing and conceded defeat on Friday.

"Earlier today, I called and congratulated Scott Murphy on a hard-fought contest and wished him well as the next Congressman of the 20th Congressional district. I also expressed my willingness to work with him to ensure that the families of Upstate New York are not left behind as our nation strives for economic recovery.

"This was a close campaign every step of the way. Ultimately, it became clear that the numbers were not going our way and that the time had come to step aside and ensure that the next Congressman be seated as quickly as possible.

I am late in getting around to this story, but it is important. The Rachel Maddow Show covered it fairly well a few days ago (below). As noted at crooksandliars.com blog, Rachel Maddow: The Neoneocons "Neocons never die. They just keep giving themselves new names. After claiming "mission accomplished" in Iraq, it seems the PNAC crowd has done just that with their latest attempt at re-branding, The Foreign Policy Initiative."

The story is important because our own "Senator Sore Loser," John McCain, the man who was one of the Washington, D.C. patrons of Ahmed Chalabi and his Iraqi National Congress - the group that falsified intelligence to feed to the Neocons within the White House Iraq Group (WHIG) and the Office of Special Plans within the Pentagon to create a false casus beli for war with Iraq - was the keynote speaker at the inaugural event of this re-branded Neoconservative think tank of war criminals.

In our Global World Politic, and President Obama’s Brave New World, all eyes look to POTUS for The Word.  Just as candidate John McCain’s political ad told us, Obama is the biggest celebrity in the world. If only Mr. McCain had been as savvy and as hip as his great ads; we would have had a different President to be angry with about his compromising liberalism.  But then, while McCain’s staffers were somewhat hip with an ear on a track of the times, candidate Obama’s team saw their guy in a totally different light.  Barack Obama is the deus ex machina in the story.
