Prop. 101 forces 'optimistic' of win

Proponents of Proposition 101, called the Medical Choice for Arizona Act, are "cautiously optimistic" the initiative will pass after futher ballots are counted, according to a spokesman.

Tom Evans, whose firm did the campaign's PR, told PolitickerAZ.com that while initial returns show "no" votes trailing "yes" votes by just under 2,000 statewide, there are a lot left to count.

Suit against AHCCCS goes before judge Wednesday

On Wednesday morning, a Maricopa County Superior Court judge will hear arguments for and against a lawsuit filed by backers of Proposition 101 against the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, which claims a memo written by
AHCCCS head Anthony Rodgers improperly spent taxpayer money pursuing a partisan goal when he wrote a memo that warned of negative consequences if Prop. 101 is passed.
