[img_assist|nid=1001|title=U.S. Sen. Three hundred people attended the event, with former Gov. Pete Wilson, former Secretary of State Bill Jones, state Republican Party Chairman Ron Nehring, and investment banker James Chanos. Attendees dined on chicken, according to one person who was there.

Whitman is serving as a co-chair for the McCain. She is widely seen as a potential Republican gubernatorial candidate in 2010.
