[img_assist|nid=1302|title=U.S. Rep. Dan Lungren (R-Gold River)|desc=|link=none|url=undefined|align=right|width=160|height=246]U.S. Rep Dan Lungren will host a pair of town hall workshops early next week in his 3rd Congressional District.
According to his congressional Web site, Lungren (R-Gold River) will focus on gas prices at the town halls, along with other energy price spikes. The workshops are on June 29 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Rio Vista, and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on June 30 in Ione.
Maps for the town halls' locations can be found here.
On Lungren's congressional Web site, he lambastes majority party Democrats for scheduling a vote on legislation covering intrastate monkey sales, but not addressing higher energy prices.
Lungren is being challenged by Bill Durston, a doctor who lost to Lungren in 2006. At a previous town hall meeting, Durston made a point of asking Lungren whether he would debate his Democratic challenger this year.
So far, Lungren has not committed to any debates, according to Durston.
Because party registration between Republicans and Democrats is fairly close in the 3rd Congressional District, some believe Lungren could be susceptible to a strong challenger.
