DENVER - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, serving as permanent chairwoman of the Democratic National Party, led all delegates Wednesday night in nominating Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware as the Democratic Party's nominee for vice president of the United States.
Pelosi (D-San Francisco) asked for the delegates' approval and received a rousing shout of "ayes" from the packed crowd at the Pepsi Center.
Biden then delivered an emotion-laden, personal acceptance speech led by "Yes, Yes, I accept your nomination to run with Barack Obama as the next vice president of the United States of America."
