Biden to make Bay Area fundraising sweep on Saturday

Delaware Sen. Joe Biden, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, will make what observers think will likely be his last fundraising sweep through the Bay Area this Saturday.

Biden, Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama's running mate, will first stop for a lunch and VIP reception at the Atherton home of former state Controller and potential 2010 Democratic gubernatorial candidate Steve Westly. Admission will be $2,500 for lunch and $14,250 for the VIP treatment.

Following that, Biden is scheduled to travel to the East Bay city of Piedmont for an afternoon reception starting at 4 p.m. at the home of Derek and Rachel Benham. It will be $1,000 for the reception but an extra $9,000 if you'd like a photo with senator.

Finally, Biden and entourage will pop over the Bay Bridge for a dinner event starting at 6:15 p.m. at the home of patron Doug Hickey in San Francisco. Admission is $5,000 per person.
