Mobley to Galgiani: Where do you stand on Prop. 8?

Assembly candidate Jack Mobley declared his support of Proposition 8 Monday, then called on opponent and incumbent Assembly member Cathleen Galgiani to give her own stance.

Mobley, a Merced County planning commissioner trying to unseat Galgiani (D-Livingston) in the 17th Assembly District, said voters should know what representatives like Galgiani have to say on issues of such interest.

"I agree that there is strength in values; however, it is time to find out what Assemblywoman Galgiani's values are," Mobley said in a press release.

Galgiani did not immediately respond to a call for comment Monday.

Mobley, a Republican running in a district that favors Democrats in registration, called on Galgiani earlier this month to take a stand on Proposition 11, the redistricting measure.

Galgiani ultimately said she was inclined to support the measure, but wasn't deeply familiar with it.
