McNerney well on way to soundly defeating Andal in CA-11

DUBLIN - Using a deadly combination of raising more money and then deploying a better ground game and advertising strategy, first term U.S. Rep. Jerry McNerney trounced  GOP challenger Dean Andal in the much-watched CA-11 Tuesday night.

"It's gratifying to reelected," an exhausted McNerney said in a brief interview with PolitickerCA.com early Wednesday morning. "It tells me that we're doing things right and that constituents in my district care about having regular access to me. As we go forward, that policy and practice will not change."

As of 1:51 a.m. Wednesday the Pleasanton Democrat was beating the Stockton Republican 55.2 percent to 44.8 percent with a little more than 76 percent of all precincts reporting.

Andal could not be reached for comment.
