Sieglock leads Huber by more than 600 votes in AD 10

Assembly candidates Alyson Huber and Jack Sieglock are still separated by hundreds rather than thousands of votes, but it was unclear Tuesday how much longer it might take until one could declare victory.

Sieglock, a Republican from Lodi, led the 10th Assembly District race with 73,389 votes as of late Tuesday afternoon, ahead by 614 over Huber, a Democrat from El Dorado Hills.

That gave Sieglock 46.8 percent of the vote, to 46.6 percent for Huber, with 72,775 votes.

However, all four counties partially or wholly within the 10th had combined thousands of outstanding ballots on Monday evening, according to the California Secretary of State's Web site.

Those included San Joaquin County, where 41,509 ballots have yet to be counted, and Sacramento County, where 105,200 ballots still need to be processed.

It was not clear how many of those uncounted ballots fall within the 10th District's boundaries.

Sieglock, a former San Joaquin County supervisor and Lodi city councilman, has already participated in some freshmen legislator orientation events with the Assembly Republican Caucus.
