Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner announced another slew of Republican endorsements Thursday in his campaign for the 2010 Republican nomination for governor.

The list of endorsements includes state Senators Dennis Hollingsworth (R-Murrieta) and Mimi Walters (R-Laguna Niguel) and state Assemblymembers Mike Duvall (R-Yorba Linda), Martin Garrick (R-Carlsbad), Diane Harkey (R-Dana Point) and Jim Nielsen (R-Gerber).

"The choice for Governor is clear," Walters said in a statement. "We need someone with experience, intelligence and independence. Steve Poizner is all of those things."

"It is my honor to have been endorsed by this group of Republicans who work hard to advance our shared values of smaller government, lower taxes, individual freedom and economic policies that bring jobs and investment to our state," Poizner said.

With the addition of Thursday's endorsements, Poizner now has the support of 70 percent of Republican state legislators.
