Special Weekend Report: California's November general election in review

Once again - despite some congressional and statehouse races that were initially touted to be bloody cage matches - California's often confounding ballot initiative process took center stage during Tuesday's general election.

Arguably, the passage of Prop. 8 - the ballot measure that would ban gay marriage in the state - grabbed the lion's share of the public's attention and certainly a ton of TV advertising time.

Pindell Report releases final Election Day predictions

Maldonado, Fiorina speaking at RNC tonight

State Sen. Abel Maldonado (R-Santa Maria) is scheduled to address the Republican National Convention in St. Paul on Wednesday evening between 4 and 5 p.m. (PST), while Palo Alto resident and top advisor to U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) Carly Fiorina will speak between 5 and 6 p.m.

Presumptive vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) is scheduled to accept the vice presidential nomination and address the convention between 7 and 8 p.m.

Today's convention schedule

The fourth and final day of the Democratic National Convention will be called to order at 5:00 PM EST on Thursday, with a theme of "Change You Can Believe In."

The final day's events will take place at INVESCO Field at Mile High, where over 70,000 people are expected to attend.
