Lieu forms exploratory committee for Attorney General in 2010

Assemblyman Ted Lieu (D-Torrance) filed paperwork this week to run for California Attorney General in 2010.

Lieu is the third Democrat to make the move, joining San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris and former Assemblyman Joe Canciamilla.

Current Attorney General Jerry Brown could still run for re-election if he decides against running for governor.

Pacheco, Dumanis decline any interest in running for attorney general in 2010

Two Republican district attorneys from Southern California reaffirmed that they have no interest in running for attorney general in 2010.

"I want to be unequivocal in my response," Rod Pacheco, Riverside County district attorney, said. "The answer is no, I'm not running for attorney general."

San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis also declined any interest in running for the statewide office.

Harris files papers to formally enter 2010 state Attorney General's race

SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco District Attorney Kamala D. Harris filed papers Wednesday to run for California Attorney General in the June 2010 primary election.

Harris, 44, contends that she brings the right kind of approach and experience at the right time to become the Golden State's chief law enforcement officer.
