Obama rolls out 5 new California supers

Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is announcing the endorsements of five new California superdelegates: U.S. Reps. Bob Filner, Sam Farr, and Jerry McNerney and Democratic National Committee members Rachel Binah and Christine Pelosi.

Earlier in the day, Obama’s campaign announced the endorsements of Democratic National Committee members John Perez and Kamil Hasan and U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters.

15 undeclared California superdelegates remain.

Superdelegate Filner prepares to endorse; Davis, Mulholland to hold

U.S. Rep. Bob Filner, an undeclared superdelegate, appears likely to endorse in the Democratic presidential race Tuesday evening.

“He will be releasing a statement on the presidential race later tonight,” says a spokeswoman.

Filner is an eight term Democrat from San Diego.

Two other state superdelegates, meanwhile, indicated they were not prepared to endorse today.
