Sheehan refuses to concede defeat by Pelosi in CA-08

SAN FRANCISCO -- Peace activist Cindy Sheehan said the latest entry of her campaign blog that she is refusing to concede defeat to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in CA-08.

Sheehan, who ran as an independent candidate, received 16.8 percent of the votes cast during Tuesday's election. Republican challenger Dana Walsh collected 9.3 percent while Libertarian Philip Berg secured 2.2 percent of the vote.

San Francisco voters, nevertheless, sent Pelosi back to Washington with a dominant 71.7 percent of the vote.

Gay celebrity leaders endorse Sheehan in her battle against Pelosi in CA-08

SAN FRANCISCO -- Cindy Sheehan, the independent peace-mom-activist-turned-candidate who is running an insurgent campaign against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for control of her CA-08 seat, announced this week that several leaders in California's gay and lesbian community have endorsed her.

Sheehan claims her campaign against Pelosi is being sabotaged

Cindy Sheehan, the peace-activist-mom who lost a son in Iraq and who gained national prominence by protesting outside of President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, says she has been the victim of "dirty tricks" in her campaign to dislodge House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in CA-08.

In her campaign blog earlier this week, Sheehan says that:

--Her hotel phone in Denver during the Democratic National Convention was "bugged."

--Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa personally intervened to stop her from speaking at a music festival.

Peace activist Cindy Sheehan qualified to take on Pelosi in CA-8 race this November

Bay Area anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan has made good on her pledge to take on the most powerful woman in U.S. politics, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Sheehan, whose son Casey died while fighting in Iraq, gained national attention after holding a weeks long vigil outside of the entrance to President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas.
