As if there wasn't enough happening today...

? Jonathan Singer has a good interview with Gavin Newsom.  In general, Newsom is a very confident, positive guy, but he lets his slip show here:

But the caveat is that unless we have the structural changes, I don't care who your personality is, it's going to be very difficult to navigate out of this. So that's the big difference between Washington, DC and Sacramento. We're going to have to, as well, at the same time address the structural questions, not just promote a different personality as Governor.

Not personality but process, as we said here back in February.

Democrats Love to use Taxes Codes to Steal

What is the difference between taxing bonus money at 90% and taxing dividends (non "earned" money) at 90%.

The Democrats and other socialist believe that only labor is real wages, dividends, profits, bonuses are all theft of money from workers.

The Obama tax increase did have impressive GOP support--well known anti-taxers voted FOR the theft.  Tom McClintock, Ed Royce and Dana Rohrabacher all voted to confiscate the contracted bonuses.

How will they oppose a 90% rate on dividends and profits--the capital gains tax can now go up to 90% and they will have to support Obama.  Of course, that means investors will withdraw their investments in the United States.

Democratic gains and strong candidates make for surprisingly competitive races in CA-45, CA-46 and CA-50

HUNTINGTON BEACH - The biggest surprise of this election might just come from Southern California, where many long-time incumbents are now facing their first serious challengers in years due to a combination of Democratic gains in voter registration, an unusually strong field of candidates and a nationally toxic environment for Republicans.

In particular, Democratic challengers in the 45th, 46th and 50th Congressional Districts have given U.S. Reps. Mary Bono Mack (R-Palm Springs), Dana Rohrabacher (R-Huntington Beach) and Brian Bilbray (R-Carlsbad) a run for their money.
