Close board vote expected tomorrow on MWD pension ripoff -- will one local voter be absent?

How will San Diego area representatives vote tomorrow on the insane proposal to give a retroactive 25 percent pension spike to all 2,000 employees of the giant Metropolitan Water District, main supplier to 19 million residents of Socal? The O.C....

Mayor: San Diego has best record of any gov body in U.S. in addressing pension woes

When Mayor Jerry Sanders came in to meet with the U-T editorial board last week, I asked him why he didn't speak up last month when the San Diego retirement board briefly considered repeating the dire mistakes of 1996 and...

Hey, Jerry Sanders: Fire airport board chief. Enough is enough.

The U-T today has still more revelations about Bob Watkins' corner-cutting and breaking of minor rules: In what may be a further breach of city regulations, San Diego airport authority Chairman Bob Watkins and a longtime associate have been operating...

SEIU Might Accept Responsible Contract

The SEIU, a well known bully, San Diego might get a halfway responsible union contract.

This is the same SEIU that is running TV ads demanding higher taxes--guess they never heard about the results of the May 19th Special Election.

Here is a better idea.  If someone wants to work for LA, San Diego or the local school district, allow them to apply for the job, as they do now.
