Left: Obama is Really George Bush

I do not know how a socialist President, Barack Obama, could possibly "disappoint" the left.  He is promoting government health care, the failed kind, like they have in England.  He has taken over large portions of control of State budgets--using your Federal tax dollars.  Obama has taken over, and about to close, Chrysler and General Motors.

Obama Creates Trade War: US Jobs to be Lost

Obama really wanted to help American unions.  But how?  After all, they spent more than $150 million to put him in the White House.

As part of the stimulus package, meant for control over States and businesses, not to fix any problems, the White House wanted the Federal tax dollars spent ONLY on American made products and services.

That means if a component of a product is made in another nation, it can not be used.  The Canadians are the first victims of this and they are striking back.

"Outrage spread in Canada, with the Toronto Star last week bemoaning "a plague of protectionist measures in the U.

Feinstein Wants Amnesty for One Million Illegal Aliens

Finally, Dianne Feinstein, the ethically challenged US Senator, provides another hint as to her values.

She wants to give over one million illegal aliens in California amnesty--a free ride--amnesty from their criminal activities.

Any wonder the ACLU loves this women.  She is the one that demands guns be outlawed--EXCEPT for the one SHE carries.  This is a woman that believes the law is meant for those that do not know any better.

Oh, in the midst of a fiscal meltdown, she, along with Arnold, is going to provide a $10 billion bond measure ($20 billion in new debt including principle and interest).

Dianne Feinstein needs help.  She prefers bankruptcy, law breaking and higher taxes to responsible government.  Now she want those who have taken one million jobs from honest Americans and give them to criminals.

Shame on us for allowing her the right to protect criminals.

Colleges to go the way of Newspapers?

What if Harvard or UC Davis did not exist as brick and mortar education sites--would anybody notice or care?  Would it make a difference?

Just as the Internet has ended the newspaper monopoly on information and news, it has also ended the monopoly of propaganda machines financed by the rich and taxpayers.

The purpose of education is to educate, not to socialize, playing football or teach future film makers.

If you want to play sports, let the sports provide the venue to train, teach and play.  If you want to learn film making, let Hollywood provide the technical training facilities--it is not up to the poor to create another Spielberg.

Is it Safe to Vacation in Mexico?--Try Baghdad Instead

If you want to visit a war zone, Iraq is the place to go, not Mexico.  At least we have US troops in Iraq to protect you.  Mexico has corrupt police and military that works with the drug dealers and weapons runners.

Police officers and policed chiefs are being gunned down.  The Cancun police chief resigned, the gangs told him to leave town or he will die--so he left.

Want drugs, guns or a good fire fight, go to Mexico.  Want a tan, go to the Bahamas or Hawaii.  Mexico is a dangerous place, go there if your will is up to date and you like a good war.

Obama Violates International Treaty

The Obama Administration may be the biggest law breakers coming out of Chicago since the Capone gang.

They will not allow Border Patrol to raid employers hiring illegal aliens.  The AG has told drug dealers, have at it, we will not enforce Federal marijuana laws.  Barack himself has said, not paying your taxes IS a qualification for my administration.

Now Obama has closed the border to Mexican trucks, in violation to NAFTA, a treaty created by President Bill Clinton, a fellow Democrat.

The purpose is not to make our roads safer.  No, it is to protect the Teamsters union--if businesses had the choice between lower costs non union Mexican firms, and high cost, bribe demanding US unions--who will they select?  The Teamsters would go out of  business.

US Attorney General Holder Sides With law Breakers, Again

Eric Holder, the Obama appointee as Attorney General prefers law breakers to upholding the law.  As an appointee in the Democrat Clinton Administration he promoted a presidential pardon for a fugitive from justice, who had an ex wife that "donated" millions to Clinton causes.

Now Holder has decided he will not enforce Federal marijuana laws.  he does not have to repeal them, just refuse to enforce them--just like he id doing for illegal aliens.

"Cultivating, using and selling medical marijuana are allowed in some instances under California law. But such actions are outlawed entirely under federal law, which supersedes those of the states.

McCain Embarrassed!! Loses State Committeeman Race!

How embarrassing is this? A U.S. Senator, John McCain, for some crazy reason, decided to run for State Committeeman in Arizona. So, the Senator puts his name on the ballot, loses. Then claims he really didn't intend to run? Who is naive enough to believe that? Why would a U.S. Senator, running for President of the United States run for State Committeeman, in his own local district AND LOSES--THIS HAS TO BE EMBARRASSING. Those that know him best didn't feel he could serve them as a Committeeman? Yet he wants to be President of the United States? Worse, a former Governor runs, as his supporter, and also loses.

Prop 8 Post-Arguments Open Thread

The oral arguments in the effort to overturn Prop 8 ended about a half hour ago, and the hearing has made some things clear, even though final outcome remains uncertain.

Queerty has a good overview of the seven justices that will decide the case and their general political leanings. Much of this was confirmed by what I could see in the oral arguments.

There seem to be two main questions at play here. First, will Prop 8 be upheld? Based on the arguments I would tentatively posit the court will rule this way:

Overturn: George, Moreno, Werdegar
Uphold: Baxter, Chin, Kennard
Unclear: Corrigan

Kennard ruled with the majority last May on the marriage cases, but as the day went on it became clear she does not buy the "Prop 8 was a revision, not an amendment" argument.

Time For A Constitutional Convention?

160 years ago a group of newly arrived Anglos and Spanish-speaking Californios met at Colton Hall here in Monterey (pictured at right in a flickr photo by fritzliess) and held California's first Constitutional Convention. The document they produced was literally copied from the Iowa state constitution but had some elements of the Mexican system of government and justice grafted onto it, and included full protection of Spanish speakers' rights in what was officially a bilingual state.

California's constitution has undergone significant change since then. In 1878 the Workingmen's Party rode an anti-Chinese backlash and the Long Depression to power, and rewrote the Constitution in an effort to undermine the power of wealthy interests.
