Romney in Colorado on Saturday

UPDATED 6:17 P.M. 10/31/2008

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will be in Colorado Springs on Saturday afternoon for a rally on behalf of Republican presidential nominee John McCain, according to the El Paso County Republican Party.

He'll also attend a rally at McCain's Colorado state headquarters in Greenwood Village on Saturday night, McCain's campaign announced.

Romney will appear at 5 p.m. at Mr. Biggs Family Fun Center, 5825 Mark Dabling Blvd. in Colorado Springs. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m; the event is free and non-ticketed.

Later that day, Romney will attend a "meet-and-greet" rally at 6:30 p.m. at McCain's state headquarters,5950 South Willow Drive, Suite 306 in Greenwood Village.

The visit will be Romney's first campaign stop on McCain's behalf since the Republican National Convention. Romney crushed McCain in the Colorado Republican Caucus on Feb. 5, taking 59 percent of the vote to McCain's 19 percent.

After the rally, Republican volunteers will hold a phone bank and canvass neighborhoods, said El Paso County GOP Executive Director Nathan Fisk.
