CD-6 race mirrors presidential primaries

Change, experience, fire, and command: those are the menu choices in the Republican contest to succeed Tom Tancredo in the 6th congressional district.

Debating April 21 at a rec center in Highlands Ranch, ranged across the stage alphabetically, businessman Wil Armstrong and Secretary of State Mike Coffman -- money leaders in the race so far -- sparred with State Sens. Ted Harvey and Steve Ward.

The debate was sponsored by the Sagebrush Forum, a newly formed conservative group in Douglas County, and PolitickerCO.com.

Call them the Arkansas Also-Rans

Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall when the Clintons pause from their hell-bent battle against political extinction and confront (if they can bear it) the humiliating parallel of her own and Mike Huckabee's recent primary defeats? In Wisconsin on Tuesday, for example, Hillary's 17-point drubbing by Obama (58-41) was almost identical to Huck's 18-point shellacking by McCain (55-37).

Not me, not yet

The favorable words about John McCain from Newt Gingrich on Fox News the other night were measured, not glowing. He indicated an intention to vote for the GOP ticket (on which I'd love to see Newt himself as VP), but there was no ringing endorsement of Mac the Maverick. My sentiments exactly.
