DWAF reacts to Musgrave's 'name calling'

The long back and forth between U.S. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave (R-Fort Morgan) and the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund gained yet another entry on Saturday, as David Kirk, the group's communications coordinator sent an e-mail to PolitickerCO.com, to rebut Musgrave's recent characterization of the group as "radical" and its ads as "reprehensible".

Quinnipiac: Schaffer and Udall tied at 44. McCain leads Obama 46-44.

Mirroring the change in momentum in the presidential race, the U.S. Senate race between former U.S. Rep. Bob Schaffer (R-Fort Collins) and U.S. Rep. Mark Udall (D-Boulder County) has moved into a dead heat, according to Quinnipiac University polls that were released last Thursday. The poll shows Schaffer and Udall tied at 44 percent, erasing a 48 percent to 38 percent lead that Udall held as of June 26.

Markey selected for DCCC's 'Red to Blue' program

In a boost to her campaign for the 4th Congressional District seat, former Larimer County Democratic Party chair Betsy Markey (D-Fort Collins) was selected Wednesday morning as one of 13 new candidates in the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's "Red to Blue Program."

This means Markey's campaign will get help from Democratic strategists, on-the-ground support from the DCCC, and a likely six-figure fundraising boost, said Markey manager Anne Caprara.
