Starin says Wadhams 'was spread too thin'; claims GOP ignored congressional, legislative races

Second Congressional District Republican nominee Scott Starin said Colorado Republican Party Chair Dick Wadhams "was spread too thin" this past election cycle by running Bob Schaffer's U.S. Senate campaign while remaining party chair.

He also criticized the state party for not paying enough attention to state legislative races, and blasted national Republicans for focusing on U.S. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave's (R-Fort Morgan) re-election campaign while ignoring him and other long-shot GOP congressional candidates.

Lamborn survives primary, Polis and Coffman emerge as nominees

Freshman U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn survived a Republican primary challenge Tuesday night easily beating Jeff Crank in a hard fought primary. In two open seats, businessman Jared Polis secured the Democratic nomination in the 2nd Congressional District and state Secretary of State Mike Coffman won the 6th Congressional District seat vacated by Tom Tancredo.

FitzGerald attends EMILY's List luncheon

CQpolitics today has a puff piece on Joan FitzGerald who yesterday attended the annual EMILY's List luncheon.

CQ implied in their opening that FitzGerald was running for Congress in CO-2 because she relished the thought of being in the majority saying, "Being in the majority is better."

To drill or not, that’s the question

The seesaw battle to drill or not to drill for more energy (both oil and gas) continued today with Bush pushing for more drilling and exploration according to the AP.

Meanwhile Colorado Democrats US Rep Mark Udall and US Rep Ed Perlmutter said on Monday that "America needs to wean itself off its addiction to fossil fuels," according to 7News Denver's web site.
