Lamborn says he'll work on local issues, helping GOP regain congressional seats

U.S Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-Colorado Springs), now one of only two Republicans in Colorado's congressional delegation, said Tuesday he still thinks he can get things done despite working in a Democratic-controlled Congress along with a Democratic president.

"There will be plenty of opportunities to work for important initiatives that are for the good of Colorado," Lamborn said in a conference call Wednesday morning.

Bidlack unveils TV ads

UPDATED 10:25 P.M. 10/8/2008

Fifth Congressional District Democratic nominee Hal Bidlack's campaign unveiled their first two television ads of the campaign Wednesday - one positive, one negative.

The negative ad alleges Republican incumbent Doug Lamborn voted against foreclosure protection for U.S. troops and took contributions from big oil companies then voting against renewable energy.

Why should US Rep Doug Lamborn debate his two challengers when he holds a definite lead over his rivals and can be treated to the spectacle of the two of them beating each other up instead of coming across congressional?
