McInnis begins 2010 challenge to Gov. Ritter

Former U.S. Rep. Scott McInnis officially entered the 2010 gubernatorial race with little fanfare and after critics have for weeks argued he was essentially running without filing the appropriate financial disclosures.

The Grand Junction Republican gave notice of his intent to run Tuesday to the secretary of state's office in what McInnis' right-hand man called a "purely bureaucratic" move.

So many people have asked to volunteer, Mike Hesse said, that McInnis made his candidacy official so he could put them to work.

And though McInnis' detractors claimed victory Tuesday, the filing has nothing to do with the mounting criticism, Hesse said.

Armstrong v. Huttner Round Two: Quit with the swastika hypocrisy

Tuesday's anti-stimulus rally at the Capitol drew hundreds of people protesting President Obama's signing of the $787 billion economic stimulus bill. Among the protesters was an unknown man identified only by his "swastika sign" that likened Obama to Adolf Hitler.

Michael Huttner of ProgressNow, a left-wing advocacy group, attended the rally and in typical Huttner fashion, sent out a post-rally release where he decried the use of swastikas a Nazi analogies, and also demanded an apology from rally organizers, including Independence Institute President Jon Caldara.

But according to conservative muckraker Ari Armstrong, supporters posting on ProgressNow's Web site have regularly used Nazi analogies over the years, and ProgressNow has yet to condemn, edit, or apologize for this sort of language.

"Swastika Guy" Fracas Enters Backpedal Phase

Responding yesterday to criticism of a widely-circulated photo taken of her at the anti-stimulus rally held by Colorado Republicans at the state Capitol this week, syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin was not exactly what you'd call apologetic.
For eight years, we've heard "Bushitler" invoked endlessly...

Now, the tables have been turned. Some folks are invoking Nazi allusions against Barack Obama.

...The left-wing blogosphere is suddenly up  in arms over the sight of others mimicking their over-the-top rhetoric of the past eight years. A protester who attended the Denver Pig Roast today had such a sign and asked for a picture with me. The nutroots are having vapors about it.
