McInnis begins 2010 challenge to Gov. Ritter

Former U.S. Rep. Scott McInnis officially entered the 2010 gubernatorial race with little fanfare and after critics have for weeks argued he was essentially running without filing the appropriate financial disclosures.

The Grand Junction Republican gave notice of his intent to run Tuesday to the secretary of state's office in what McInnis' right-hand man called a "purely bureaucratic" move.

So many people have asked to volunteer, Mike Hesse said, that McInnis made his candidacy official so he could put them to work.

And though McInnis' detractors claimed victory Tuesday, the filing has nothing to do with the mounting criticism, Hesse said.

My lunch with Brandon & Rollie

Today I had the opportunity to have lunch with Senators Brandon Shaffer and Rollie Heath after a town meeting they just held. So I got them coming off of 2? hours of discussing what they are doing down at the legislature and answering questions. That worked really well as they were already focused on discussing their efforts down at the capitol.
Rollie mentioned up front that he gave everyone 5 minutes to speak and Brandon was the only one to live with that limit. I'm shocked, repeat shocked, that most of the politicians talked for longer than scheduled.

It started off with Brandon asking me about my blogging & my company.

If she leaves, she said she would focus on a possible Obama administration appointment, writing, and farming.

Waak: Presidential race may potentially be over before Colorado weighs in

Given the number of polls showing Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama winning in several battleground states on the East Coast and in the Midwest, Colorado Democratic Party Chair Pat Waak said it's possible the presidential election could be over before Colorado's votes are counted.

"We've talked about the possibility," Waak said on Tuesday afternoon."At this point, I don't bet on it one way or the other. My job is to make sure that everybody who has to vote in Colorado gets a chance to and have them go vote for my candidates."
