Clapp shadowboxes Newell in SD-26 race

Democrat Linda Newell knows she has a Republican opponent in Senate District 26.

She's just never met, seen or heard from Lauri Clapp.

"It's so bizarre," Newell told PolitickerCO.com. "I've never even met her -- I never even talked to her. I tried -- I've called her. I called her the day after the primaries (and) said ‘Congratulations.' I called her two times after that. I emailed her to invite her to a town hall so that we could have all of the candidates there. I never got a call or email back."

Confident Coffman campaign already looking for general election workers

Word on the street, Ward campaign says, is that he's leading

Some 6th Congressional District Republican primary campaigns have commissioned pollsters to survey how the race is playing out.

But Steve Ward's campaign prefers to poll 6th District voters the old-fashioned way: by going door-to-door themselves and asking them.

Ward and about 90 campaign canvassers have talked to about 2,400 6th District residents (out of about 10,000 houses hit in total) from around the district since the state senator from Littleton began campaigning in March.

Where’s Ward? Watch the CO-6 debate on line

As we wait for the fundraising quarter to come to end, we suddenly remembered state senator Steve Ward, who is running to replace US Rep Tom Tancredo.

We had to stop and remember him because he's been kind of invisible since the CO-6 debate. And of course we watched the debate on Sunday on PBS. That's what jogged our memory.

You can see the complete debate online right here.

Feedback Friday

"The reason the HBA sided with Rayburn is because that is where the facts are. The fact is that the terms of the contract were not followed and so the agreement was terminated. It's simple really."

-Posted by Integrity First in response to our story "HBA repudiates poll results, agreement in CO-5."

Dear Integrity,

We have to agree.
