Blake Hall goes to jail

Blake Hall, former Repub bigshot from Idaho Falls, was sentenced yesterday after earlier pleading guilty to a stalking charge.

Hall's ex-girlfriend filed a complaint earlier this year, and court proceedings were slowed by Hall's association with the City of Idaho Falls, because he was a paid assistant and consultant to the city prosecutor, Dane Watkins II. In addition, Hall was also connected or well known to all the local judiciary.  read more »

Ex-girlfriend issued 1-year protective order from RNC member Blake Hall

It takes a real macho Rethuglican he-man to terrorize a woman to the level that a court of law -- of which he is a member -- orders him to get nowhere near her for 12 months. As Sisyphus wrote earlier this month, Republican Blake Hall continues to bring shame to Idaho.

Prominent Republican leader Blake Hall is barred for a year from approaching the 37-year-old woman under a protection order issued by an Idaho Falls judge.

Seventh District Judge Penny Stanford's order prohibits Hall, 56, from going within 900 feet of the woman or her residence. A temporary order was issued at the woman's request Sept. 1. Stanford extended the order after a closed hearing Wednesday.  read more »

Republican Blake Hall Bringing More Shame to Idaho

News we have of No Contact Order entered against South East Idaho Republican powerhouse Blake Hall:

Former Idaho GOP Chairman Blake Hall has been ordered to stay at least 900 feet away from an Idaho Falls woman by a court in Bonneville County, as reported by the Idaho Falls Post-Register on Friday.

Idaho Falls police also are investigating Hall in connection with a complaint filed by the woman Monday, Sgt. Phil Grimes told the newspaper. The Post-Register did not identify the woman, citing its policy in such cases.

Hall, 56, is a the chief civil attorney for Bonneville County and a powerful political insider whose government clients pay his law firm $600,000 a year.

CAT fund millions short

Blake Hall, administrator of the state Catastrophic Fund, which helps counties cover medical costs for indigents by covering the bills beyond $10,000 per case, told the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee this morning that the fund is $2.5 million short for the rest of this fiscal year, and $10 million short for next year's anticipated costs under the governor's budget recommendation. Gov. Butch Otter has discussed raising counties' deductibles from $10,000 to $15,000 or making other changes to the program, but counties are short of funds, too. "If we did this, then that additional obligation on the counties would have to come out of the property tax, right?" asked Rep.
