Calling Ben Chandler...

The Democrats' health care reform bill is being voted on tomorrow (Saturday).

Ben Chandler is still publicly on the fence.

Call him, and tell your friends and family to do the same:

DC office: Phone: (202) 225-4706 | FAX: (202) 225-2122

Lexington office: Phone: (859) 219-1366 | FAX: (859) 219-3437

Ben can either have folks willing to volunteer for him, or he'll be on his own with himself and the insurance industry. His choice....

Quick Hit: Sadness in Texas

This is a very good post about yesterday's tragic shooting at Ft. Hood. It was first thought that there were multiple shooters or that perhaps the lone suspect suffered from PTSD, which is now seeming unlikely. My thoughts go out to the family and friends of the victims and of the assailant, and to the military community at large. Very sad.

Sex Tips from James Dobson

Some hilarity from Focus on the Family in my inbox this morning:
So what's good about sex? Sex serves not just one great good but three. However, they need marriage to come into their own.

First among the goods of conjugal sex is procreation. God told Adam and Eve to "be fruitful and multiply." This was part of their dominion of the earth.

Second is union. When Adam was lonely, God didn't give him a man, an animal, or a crowd of people, but a woman—different than he, yet made with him in God's image. When Adam first gazed upon his new companion, he was so astonished that he cried, "This at last is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh.

Thursday Lunch Laugh

I can't figure out if this is hilarious, evil, or hilariously evil.

She feels the same way about cotton balls as Dan Mongiardo feels about being seen in public with Steve Beshear, me thinks...

Beshear throws Demon Atheists under the bus

Preach it, Reverend Beshear!
“For Gov. Beshear, it is a Christmas tree. Period. The end,” Richardson said. “That first request from the Finance Cabinet didn't reflect that, but the governor speaks for himself. He's calling it a Christmas tree. That's what it is.”Of course, none of us could care less what he calls it, except the wackos like Marty Cothran who work themselves up in a phony lather in order to get contributions and build their email list.

Preach it, Sam Seder:

More on UK's midnight strike force against Wildcat Coal

Just got this in my inbox from the students responsible for the guerrilla sign shenanigans against Lee Todd and his Wildcat Coal buddies.
Midnight Activists Strike Against Wildcat Coal Lodge

In response to the naming of the new “Wildcat Coal Lodge” students staged a multi-banner drop for campus. This drop was intended to illustrate the corporatization of campus. For example, a banner reading “Your Ad Here” was hung at Memorial Hall.

Overall there were 6 banners and one poster throughout campus. These banners were hung at 4am and were removed by 5:30am.

The fact that they are no longer there illustrates that Student voices have been stifled yet again. Goodbye institute of higher learning, hello UK: corporate billboard. Here are the pics:

Did God teabag America?

Rand Paul's campaign manager sez so:
Now is the time to fight back harder than ever to restore America to our God-given greatness and that's why Rand Paul's platform of balanced federal budgets and freedom, capitalism, and real job creation is catching on.Meanwhile, the Grayson crowd keeps up with the "kooky" theme:
On the way out, one fellow fervently waving a Ron Paul sign could be heard mumbling something about black helicopters and the Kennedy assassination.Oh, don't forget about the ACORN census workers herding us into those FEMA concentration camps, either.

Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell is afraid to step foot in this state, because he's a damned dirty librul soshalist. And the NRSC is, too.

Stock up on popcorn, Kentucky.

UK students not going quietly on Wildcat Coal Lodge

Guerrilla activism, FTW.
Someone unhappy with the newly approved Wildcat Coal Lodge hung banners on the University of Kentucky campus early Wednesday, but few saw them because they were quickly taken down.

The theme: UK is for sale.

A banner across the pillars of Memorial Hall said, “YOUR AD HERE! Call: 257-1701.”

That’s UK President Lee Todd’s office number.

Another sign, over the Main Building, proclaimed it to be the “Ball Homes Building.” Mira Ball, who is the chairwoman of the school’s Board of Trustees, also is the chief financial officer of Ball Homes Inc.More signs, to come...
