Burch wonders if Obama bought Yarmuth’s superdelegate vote

The co-chair of Hillary Clinton’s campaign in Jefferson County, state Rep. Thomas Burch (D-Louisville), is asking if a campaign contribution from Brack Obama’s PAC earned Obama one of Kentucky’s superdelegates.

While noting he would support whichever candidate won the nomination, Burch said he was disappointed that 3rd District Congressman – and Kentucky superdelegate - John Yarmuth (D-Louisville) had endorsed Senator Obama.

Burch suggested a 2008 donation from Obama’s Hope Fund PAC to Yarmuth’s campaign may have contributed to that support.

“I found out my local Congressman got $2,500 from Obama,” said Burch. “I wonder: did he pay that to get an endorsement?”

Yarmuth's 2006 campaign against then-incumbent Congresswoman Anne Northup received a $3,500 contribution from the Hope Fund.
