The Kentucky campaign of Presidential candidate Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-New York) announced it had collected endorsements from four former Kentucky governors today.

Former Governors Wendell Ford (D-Owensboro), Paul Patton (D-Pikeville), Julian Carroll (D-Midway), and John Y. Brown (D-Lexington) all were revealed as supporters of Clinton's candidacy in a release dispatched by the campaign.

Ford also previously served as a United States Senator for four terms.

"In the thirty years I have known Hillary, she has consistently proven she can deliver results. Whether fighting to reform our nation's health care system or offering a responsible solution to ending the War in Iraq, Hillary has proven time and again she has what it takes to get the job done," said Ford in the campaign's release.

According to the most recent polls, Clinton leads her primary opponent Senator Barack Obama by more than 20 points in Kentucky.

In recent weeks, her campaign's advisors have called the state "critical" to their remaining arguments that Clinton deserves the Democratic party's nomination, as she could receive a significant bump in the national popular vote with a big win.

In the past week, Senator Clinton and her daughter Chelsea have both campaigned in the state. Husband and former President Bill Clinton will be in Kentucky both Thursday and Friday.

Earlier this week, Patton and Carroll were also announced as supporters of state Senator David Boswell's candidacy for Kentucky's Second Congressional District. Carroll is also a support of Democratic Senate candidate Bruce Lunsford.
