Northup and Yarmuth rally last-minute support

While the latest polls show a double-digit lead for U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Louisville) over Anne Northup (R-Louisville), Northup spent part of her election day campaigning around Louisville in a trolley.

Voting at her precinct earlier this morning, the former Republican Congresswoman's campaign sounded upbeat and categorized the response to Northup's efforts as "very positive."

Northup plans to be at election night festivities at the Galt House Hotel this evening.

For Yarmuth, Election Day has a dual significance. Not only is it the day that determines whether he will return to Congress for a second term, but it is also the incumbent's birthday.

In advance of that event, Yarmuth reportedly delivered a cake to volunteers at his downtown headquarters yesterday.

After campaigning with Democratic Senate Candidate Bruce Lunsford at fast food establishments across Louisville this morning, Yarmuth was joined by his family, according to a spokesperson from his campaign.

He is expected to attend the same election night party as Lunsford tonight, at the Downtown Louisville Marriott.
