Davis joins Bush for West Point visit

West Point graduate and U.S. Rep. Geoff Davis (R-Hebron) accompanied President Bush and U.S. Rep. John Shimkus (R-Ill.) on Air Force One yesterday for a visit to his alma mater.

"It's my honor to let them fly on the ‘big bird,'" Bush said of the two alumni, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.

The three flew to the New York-based military academy where Bush addressed about 1,100 senior cadets.

Once the new crop of House freshman is sworn in, Davis will be one of two West Point graduates among Kentucky's Congressional delegation, joined by U.S. Rep.-elect Brett Guthrie (R-Bowling Green).
