KY Senate race FEC reports are out

Some highlights:
- Grayson and Paul are in a virtual dead heat in fundraising.
- Almost all of Rand Paul's donations are from out of state. From White Male Liberty Patriots.
- The entire Republican establishment is lining up behind Grayson.
- Dan Mongiardo is dead last in fundraising, and is $1.2 million in debt. Which obviously means that he's totally kicking ass.

Rand Paul momentum
There's seems to be air of unreality to some of these posts. Some people seem to want to find the cloud in all of Rand Paul's silver linings.
Yes, Trey Grayson has more cash on hand. But Rand Paul got off to a late start and has basically caught up. Grayson raised just $643,000 in the third quarter while Rand Paul raised over a million.
Yes, Rand Paul has slightly less money, and Rand Paul trails in the polls. But he has dramatically narrowed the gap on Grayson in both areas since his announcement of candidacy. Rand Paul clearly has the momentum, and there is lots of time before the election.
Meanwhile, Rand Paul is talking about the economy, the budget deficit, and the weakness of the dollar while Grayson is complaining that Rand Paul wasn't born in Ky. Could be that's the reason Rand Paul has the momentum.
