Kentucky: Ben Nelson

More and better Democrats! Give Jack Conway some turkee!

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of seeing conservative "Democrats" like Ben Nelson continue to derail the progressive agenda in Washington, DC.

And sending another Ben Nelson to the United State Senate isn't my idea of change.

Kentucky Democrats, Liberals, Progressives and Independents have a choice: we can either

(1) send Dan Mongiardo to the Senate and watch him shill for King Coal, vote like a social conservative nightmare, and undermine President Obama's agenda, or

(2) we can send a progressive who is going to stand with Obama and work towards a more just, fair and safe America.

If option #2 sounds better to you, please step up to the plate today for KY Attorney General and Democratic Senate candidate

Dan Mongiardo sides with King Coal and the Republican Party on Cap and Trade

If Dan Mongiardo gets into the United States Senate, he will be Ben Nelson and Joe Lieberman on steroids, trying to kneecap Democrats and Barack Obama on every issue imaginable. Complete with coal stains.

Further proof that King Coal is buying him off? Check out his statement against America's last best hope at energy independence and preventing climate change:
Mongiardo Takes Strong Stand Against ‘Cap-and-Trade’

FRANKFORT – Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Daniel Mongiardo announced his opposition today to the “Cap-and-Trade” provisions of H.R. 2454, the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009.

Citing the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), Mongiardo said the bill would dramatically increase electric rates in Kentucky on working families and businesses over the next ten years.

Introducing the next Senator from KY, Jack Conway

(crossposted at DailyKos, go recommend it!)

I'm thrilled to report that the next Senator from the state of Kentucky has just announced his candidacy this morning. Our state's 11-year nightmare of Jim Bunning is about to end in November 2010, and here is the man that will end it.

Meet KY Attorney General Jack Conway.

As you can see in his announcement video on his site, Conway will have his official in-person rally to kick off his campaign Monday in Louisville. I can't go into all of the details now, but let's just say that Ben Chandler, Crit Luallen, John Yarmuth, and about every big KY Democrat past and present whose name isn't Steve Beshear will be there.
