Everett to see KY-3 bid through

Louisville property manager Corley Everett will be hanging in the Republican race for the 3rd Congressional District, despite earlier speculation that he may drop out and support another candidate in that race.

"I will definitely not be endorsing Chris Thieneman," said Everett on Saturday, while campaigning at the Louisville Palace theatre in conjunction with Congressman Ron Paul's (R-Tex.) visit to Kentucky.

3rd District Republicans debate in Louisville

LOUISVILLE -- The four candidates for the Republican nomination in the 3rd Congressional District congregated in Louisville on Monday night for their race's only full-fledged debate prior to the May 20 primary.

For three of the candidates, it was the chance to introduce themselves as contrasts to the race frontrunner - and former holder of the 3rd District seat - Anne Northup. Northup, on the other hand, spent the evening distinguishing herself from the man who unseated her in 2006, incumbent John Yarmuth (D-Louisville).

Confusion abundant, but Northup will debate on Monday

Anne Northup, the frontrunner for the 3rd Congressional District Republican nomination, will be in attendance at Monday night's candidate forum to be broadcast live on KET. All four Republican candidates are set to debate, shortly after two of Northup's opponents jointly circulated a press release claiming Northup was planning to skip the forum.

Northup with Massive KY-3 Lead in GOP Primary

According to new poll numbers, former Congresswoman Anne Northup is significantly ahead of her competition in the GOP race for the 3rd U.S. House district in Kentucky.

A new Survey USA poll commissioned by WHAS-TV finds Northup getting 79 percent support among respondents. The nearest competition for Northup is Louisville developer Chris Thieneman, who is polling at 11 percent.
