KET Tonight Pits State Party Leaders

It may be worth watching the KET Tonight show this evening, as state party politicians square off. Republicans will be represented by party chair Brad Cummings and 2nd District chairman Jim Wiese. They’ll be talking things over with Democratic Party chair Charlie Moore.

Palin visit to Jeffersonville mobilizes Kentucky Republicans

The Jefferson County Republican Party has already distributed three thousand tickets to tommorrow's event in Jeffersonville, Indiana with Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

Louisville-area Republicans have snapped up the tickets to the event taking place just across the Ohio River from their hometown. 25,000 total attendees are expected, and it appears a large contingent from Kentucky will be among them.

Martin’s candidacy is ‘constitutional issue’ for Libertarians, but also appellant

While Ed Martin’s candidacy as a Libertarian in the 3rd Congressional District was upheld earlier this month, the decision by the lower-court judge was contested, and is now before the state Court of Appeals.

Still, Libertarian Party of Kentucky Chair Ken Moellman told PolitickerKY.com he was confident of success for Martin, arguing the legal question of Martin’s candidacy was a “constitutional issue” the party would appeal all the way to the Supreme Court, if necessary.

Jefferson County GOP collecting lipstick after Obama’s remark

Local Republicans are vowing to send 1,000 tubes of lipstick to Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama in an effort to criticize him for recent comments the campaign of Republican nominee John McCain claim were a sexist attack on their vice presidential candidate.

Libertarians will challenge Jefferson County GOP chair's challenge

Ballot access for 3rd Congressional District Libertarian candidate Edward Martin has been challenged by Brad Cummings, the chairman of the Jefferson County Republican Party.

Martin submitted the requisite number of petition signatures to place his name on the ballot, but he is also a registered Republican – a status that may threaten his candidacy as a libertarian.

The challenge will go before a judge, who will consider its legal viability. The Libertarian Party, however, aims to contest the challenge.

Updated: Jefferson County GOP targets Pelosi visit, Yarmuth camp responds

Arguing "it would be like robbing a bank only to return later and open a checking account," the Jefferson County Republican Party has taken aim at the forthcoming visit by U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and U.S. Rep John Yarmuth (D-Louisville) to Ford's Louisville Assembly plant.
