LOUISVILLE - With just two days to go before the general election, a slate of high-profile Kentucky Democrats touted the candidates they hope can increase their federal delegation at an afternoon rally headlined by U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.).

Democratic Senate candidate Bruce Lunsford's (D-Louisville) bid against U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Louisville) was that most urgently pressed by the speakers on stage. While a poll released today showed the Republican incumbent with a growing lead, some said the contest was still winnable for Democrats.

In light of the news that First Lady Laura Bush will be campaigning on behalf of its opponent, the campaign of state Sen. David Boswell (D-Sorgho) suggests the visit is evidence of a link between state Sen. Brett Guthrie (R-Bowling Green) and the Bush administration.
