In Louisville, Dems make final push for Boswell and Lunsford

LOUISVILLE - With just two days to go before the general election, a slate of high-profile Kentucky Democrats touted the candidates they hope can increase their federal delegation at an afternoon rally headlined by U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.).

Democratic Senate candidate Bruce Lunsford's (D-Louisville) bid against U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Louisville) was that most urgently pressed by the speakers on stage. While a poll released today showed the Republican incumbent with a growing lead, some said the contest was still winnable for Democrats.

Guthrie camp jumps on MoveOn.org e-mail

MoveOn.org dispatched an e-mail soliciting volunteers for the campaign of 2nd Congressional District Democrat and state Sen. David Boswell (D-Owensboro) yesterday morning and the campaign of state Sen. Brett Guthrie (R-Bowling Green) targeted the dispatch just hours later. Pouncing on the request from the liberal policy advocacy group, Guthrie's campaign referenced the more controversial of the group's political output and called on the Democrat to "renounce" the group's activity.

After exchanging jabs with state Sen. David Boswell (D-Owensboro) on the airwaves in recent weeks, the campaign of state Sen. Brett Guthrie (R-Bowling Green) is up with a new ad that is purely biographical, touting the candidate's military and business background.

Guthrie’s lead grows to 10 points in newest public poll

State Sen. Brett Guthrie (R-Bowling Green) is leading state Sen. David Boswell (D-Sorgho) 53 to 43 percent according to the latest public polling of the 2nd Congressional District race from SurveyUSA, commissioned by WHAS-TV and Roll Call. Guthrie has increased his lead by one point in polling from that firm when compared to figures released 13 days ago, though Boswell's camp says the newest result is an outlier.
