Kentucky: David Williams

November 11, 2009 - 12:31 pm

Look out, David Williams

Here comes Jodie Haydon.

Lets hope the Democrats can spend $700,000 a little more wisely this time, eh?

More Beshear strategery against David Williams?

Bob Layton has the goods on the next possible move by Beshear to electorally castrate David Williams:
The speculation this summer had been swirling as well that Republican State Senator Tom Buford could similarly seek a higher position within the administration of Governor Steve Beshear. Since then, of course, Buford attended the Beshear-Abramson fundraiser at Nicholasville Republican R. J. Corman’s business location in Nicholasville, and both he and his wife have each contributed the maximum $1,000 contribution to Beshear’s re-election campaign.

None of this speculation comes from any source inside the Beshear adminstration, so it may be as accurate as predictions of the U.

Gov. Beshear just made David Williams cry

Two excellent pieces of news for you, dear readers:

Jake reports that Steve Beshear has just appointed Dan Kelly the 11th Circuit judgeship, and has called for a special election on Dec. 8th for his vacant State Senate seat in the 14th.

This is the equivalent of Beshear kicking David Williams in the junk.

One step closer putting David Williams in the minority, folks.

Step #3 to firing David Williams is underway

Step #1: Mike Reynolds shocks the state with a blowout victory in the 32nd District Special Senate election in February.
Step #2: Beshear starts to show the first sign of political acumen and cutthroat will to match that of David Williams: deciding to start appointing Republican State Senators to positions and take on David Williams' majority and leadership position. He appoints Sen. Charlie Borders to the KY Public Service Commission, and Democrat Robin Webb wins a slim victory in the special election.
And now... welcome to step #3: Beshear is set to give Republican State Senator Dan Kelly a judicial appointment, setting the stage for yet another special election that could put David Williams one step closer to the minority.
Cutthroat competence from Steve Beshear? Yes, its been way too long of a wait, but I could get used to more of this.

Say Hello to Bluegrass Blogtopia's new edition

My pal Bob has just started a new KY political blog, and has hit the ground running. Check out Blue Bluegrass.

I can say with 100% certainty that this is going to be one hell of a blog, and a daily must read. I don't think David Williams will like it one bit...

Be sure to check out his post from last night on the complete lunatic teacher in Pulaski Co. who thought it was perfectly OK to show a film with decapitations in it to school kids.

And go say hello to him in the comments, he won't bite.

Dear KDP

Seriously boys and girls, you know I love you, and I can't say how happy it makes me to have one less follower of David Williams in the Senate... but can we not use a campaign slogan popularized by Jesse Helms next time?
I know, I know. You didn't mean it like Helms did, Ditty wasn't a "good" target for it, and it worked... But we can do better.
While we're at it...can we dump the dixiecrat rooster, too?
Thanks.

Robin Webb wins! Look out David Williams!

Another step closer to ousting David Williams!
Jack Ditty (R)- 8402

Robin Webb (D)- 8684Tight race, eh? But the W is all that counts.

Happy Special Election Day!

Today's the day-- if you live in the 18th, go vote!
Keep your fingers crossed, folks-- a low-turnout special election in Eastern Kentucky in August of an off year just might deal a fatal blow to David Williams' control of the Senate.

You Either Die A Hero, Or You LIve Long Enough To See Yourself Become The Villan

Looks like everybody has had their say already on an excellent little blurb from the Senate Guru on our Senate Primary, but I just had to step in.

Namely, I feel like I may have overreacted last week when I pulled down a post comparing Jack and his $1.3 million fundraising quarter to George W. Bush declaring mission accomplished.

Instead, I see that all of my worst fears about the Conway campaign have been confirmed-- they're not paying attention. They're not paying attention, and their loss, in the primary or the general, could set those of us with the stones to be real Democrats in Kentucky orignonal back a decade or more.
