Kim Geveden Amateur Hour continues

Kim Geveden, whom you might remember from such failures as last year's 30th District special election and Greg Fischer's primary run*, is thankfully on the Dan Mongiardo team for this campaign.

In today's Courier-Journal, this was his response to all of the amazing endorsements that Jack Conway is going to receive Monday in Louisville:
"Jack Conway is a proud Duke Blue Devil, while Dan Mongiardo is a proud Kentucky Wildcat"

****

Conway said he will officially kick off his campaign with a rally Monday at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville. He said he'll be joined by "Kentucky leaders and some surprise guests."

Geveden said he wasn't sure who those guests might be.

Chris Cillizza once again looks silly trying to talk about Kentucky politics

Yes, the WaPo politico who referred to Greg Fischer in late 2007 as a "top tier candidate", once more shows how out of touch he is with Kentucky politics:
And, one Kentucky Democratic observer said Beshear's endorsement of Mongiardo made it more likely that state Auditor Crit Luallen would run for the seat as she believes she has a stronger chance than Conway to emerge as the alternative to the establishment Mongiardo.Um, no. Crit and Chandler are both 100% behind Jack Conway once he announces, which will be soon.

Somebody fix The Fix, por favor?

In Louisville, Dems make final push for Boswell and Lunsford

LOUISVILLE - With just two days to go before the general election, a slate of high-profile Kentucky Democrats touted the candidates they hope can increase their federal delegation at an afternoon rally headlined by U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.).

Democratic Senate candidate Bruce Lunsford's (D-Louisville) bid against U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Louisville) was that most urgently pressed by the speakers on stage. While a poll released today showed the Republican incumbent with a growing lead, some said the contest was still winnable for Democrats.

Potential 2010 candidates abundant at Clinton rally

LOUISVILLE - U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) said the line-up of speakers that preceded her at today's rally for Democratic Senate candidate Bruce Lunsford in Louisville was an "all-star" one. Among the high-profile Democrats who spoke were several rumored potential candidates who may be eyeing a Senate run next time around, in 2010.

U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Southgate) currently holds the seat up for election in two years. He last secured the seat in 2004, narrowly beating out now-Lt. Gov. Dan Mongiardo (D-Hazard).
