Yarmuth on Hardball today at 5:10

I just got a tip that John Yarmuth will be on Hardball around 5:10 debating anti-choice lunatic Bart Stupak about the mythical "abortion coverage" in the healthcare bill.

Details to come...

KDP mingling and uncomfortable questions

OK, I'll pick up where I left off on the KDP rally liveblog on Saturday...

As for the speeches, there wasn't anything specifically noteworthy. What was of note was that each of the speakers didn't just praise Steve Beshear, but they gushed and gushed about him. A little obvious what was going on, and a little more glaring because Dan Mongiardo chose to split right beforehand so he didn't have to go through the awkwardness of this.

When Ben Chandler spoke, a guy standing right next to him at the podium held up a "Fix Healthcare, it's Broken" sign. Which Ben Chandler's free government healthcare probably didn't appreciate.

Hot/Awkward KDP livebloggin/tweeting tomorrow!

I'll be in Lexington tomorrow afternoon at the big KDP rally featuring Steve Beshear, Dan Mongiardo, Jack Conway, Ben Chandler and John Yarmuth.
It starts at 4:00, and should be awkward as hell, what with Dan Mongiardo touting the endorsement of the "SOB" "whore" "worst KY Governor ever" Steve Beshear.
If the wi-fi is working, come here for the live snark. If not, check out the B&P twitterfeed here.

John Yarmuth's Letter to Humana, visualized.

September 21, 2009 - 07:48 pm

John Yarmuth: Does he represent the people, or an insurance company?

A few weeks ago, as PageOne reported, Congressman John Yarmuth fired off a letter to Humana, the Louisville-based profit-driven health care corporation, expressing his profound regret over the tenor of the health care debate in Washington and congratulating Humana's CEO on his company's almost Christ-like record of good behavior.

Regrettably, with passions inflamed throughout the country, Speaker Pelosi recently made inflammatory statements that assailed the character of health insurers across the board. I unequivocally reject these misguided comments. Not only do such overtures distract from a constructive debate, they are simply untrue. That certain insurers have engaged in unscrupulous practices cannot be denied, but to paint an entire industry with a single stroke is unfair.

Dear Louisville tech-savy TV watchers

Is it true that there is currently an ad for Kosair charities running in Louisville with John Yarmuth and Mitch McConnell in which Mitch refers to kids that "fall through the cracks of the healthcare system"?
This coming from the same Mitch McConnell who said just last week that "nothing makes him more angry" than when someone criticizes our healthcare system and says its not the best in the world?
The same Mitch McConnell whose office tried to smear Graeme Frost's family to national media?
If anyone in Louisville can yank this ad and put it on the YouTube..... that would be rather awesome, no?

Last Night's Yarmuth Town Hall

I had intended to venture over to Louisville last night for the healthcare town-hall meeting with Congressman Yarmuth but alas, I had something come up. Fortunately, the Courier-Journal did some pretty darn good coverage:

U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth faced a boisterous crowd — many of whom opposed health care overhaul — during a 90-minute question-and-answer session Wednesday night during which he defended his support for Democratic plans to rework the nation’s health care system. He sometimes had to talk over people who jeered when he gave answers they didn’t like, and occasionally cheers when he gave answers some favored.

“I appreciate the applause and I appreciate the other reaction,” Yarmuth told the crowd of 1,400 after he was introduced at Central High School.

Rand Paul campaign manager threatens John Yarmuth with violence

Seriously?!?!?!?

Those of you in Louisville need to call law enforcement immediately, I'm not joking.

And David, I say this with sincerity: fuck you

Out. Of. Bounds.
