Kentucky: Karl Rove

Obama's Flip-Flops on military issues, Karl Rove says in an opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal, are evidence that he is learning the difference between campaigning and governing. But, he warns, not all of Obama's position reversals are good for the country.

These reversals [on military issues] are both praiseworthy and evidence that, when it comes to national security, being briefed on terror threats as president is a lot different than placating MoveOn.org and Code Pink activists as a candidate. The realities of governing trump the realities of campaigning.

We are also seeing Mr. Obama reverse himself on the domestic front, but this time in a manner that will do more harm than good.

What do you call a person that speaks at a convention with Karl Rove, Ollie North, Mitt Romney and Glenn Beck as they they smear Democrats as people who will come into your home and take away your guns? For an organization that makes its living off of smearing Democrats and electing Republicans?

LOUISVILLE-- While some comments from speakers at Friday's National Rifle Association Leadership Forum have already been widely reported, a few other gems may have slipped through the cracks.

Here are just of few of the more significant or humorous lines of the day:

While the Republican presidential nomination is all but official for Arizona Senator John McCain, he and the only other candidate remaining in the field will be swinging through Kentucky prior to the May 20 primary.

As reported by Ryan Alessi of the Lexington Herald-Leader, McCain will appear in conjunction with the National Rifle Association's annual meeting in Louisville on May 16. McCain will speak as part of the American Values Leadership Forum on the first day of the three day affair.
