Taking key counties, Guthrie keeps KY-2 Republican

LOUISVILLE - State Sen. Brett Guthrie (R-Bowling Green) looks to be the next Congressman from Kentucky's 2nd Congressional District following the concession of his opponent - state Sen. David Boswell (D-Owensboro) - in their open seat contest.

With 99.8 percent of precincts in, according to unofficial results, Guthrie took 52.6 percent to Boswell's 47.4 percent in the district.

Many observers suggested the Bullit and Hardin Counties would be the keys to a win for either side, and in those, Guthrie performed well.
