MoveOn.org targets McCain with Wednesday rallies

MoveOn.org's latest nationwide campaign effort will incorporate two rallies in Kentucky this week, with Wednesday events planned at a gas station in Louisville and a Lexington park. 

The rallies are part of MoveOn.org's "Day of Action for an Oil-Free President" push, which seeks to connect presumptive Republican presidential nominee and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) with oil company interests.

MoveOn.org takes war protest to McConnell

A lunch-hour demonstration in downtown Louisville drew about two dozen protesters together in front of the building housing the district office of Senator Mitch McConnell. The rally was organized by policy advocacy group MoveOn.org as part of its campaign to highlight what they claim are links between the war in Iraq and the current economic downturn.

MoveOn.org plans Thursday event at McConnell office

Public policy advocacy group MoveOn.org will rally supporters outside of Senator Mitch McConnell's Louisville office on Thursday as part of the group's campaign to connect the current economic downturn to the war in Iraq.

MoveOn.org dispatched emails to Kentucky supporters asking them to gather at McConnell's office at 12 pm on April 24. Organizers will then hold a press conference to release data from a poll commissioned by MoveOn.org earlier this year.

Northup and Davis Rally College GOPers

Prominent Republicans from across Kentucky told the young crowd their support was necessary to ensure the state’s college campuses rallied voters to support conservative candidates. “You’re going to be on a college campus with a Democratic nominee that has a great deal of appeal. There is going to be a lot of enthusiasm on campus, more so then in a typical presidential election year,” said Secretary of State Trey Grayson. “That makes it even more important for all of you to continue to fight the good fight and to argue passionately for the beliefs you hold.
