Kentucky: Ron Paul

Trey Grayson getting desperate, starting to hit back at Rand Paul

With his primary poll numbers looking awful, Trey Grayson is not only trying to move to the far right, he's starting to directly go after Rand Paul. In the aftermath of Rand requesting to "meet with" Mitch McConnell, Rand answered that he doesn't know if he'd support Mitch McConnell as Minority Leader. This is after months and months of veiled swipes at McConnell for being such a big gubmit librul with the bailouts, and Grayson for being his little protege.

Grayson's response:
Florence, Kentucky – Secretary of State Trey Grayson commented today on an interview Rand Paul did with WHAS-11’s Joe Arnold in which Paul refused to say if he would support Mitch McConnell as Republican Leader of the U.

Did God teabag America?

Rand Paul's campaign manager sez so:
Now is the time to fight back harder than ever to restore America to our God-given greatness and that's why Rand Paul's platform of balanced federal budgets and freedom, capitalism, and real job creation is catching on.Meanwhile, the Grayson crowd keeps up with the "kooky" theme:
On the way out, one fellow fervently waving a Ron Paul sign could be heard mumbling something about black helicopters and the Kennedy assassination.Oh, don't forget about the ACORN census workers herding us into those FEMA concentration camps, either.

Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell is afraid to step foot in this state, because he's a damned dirty librul soshalist. And the NRSC is, too.

Stock up on popcorn, Kentucky.

Friends of Rand Paul

Meet Jamie Kelso, webidiot at the White Suprmemcist website stormfront.org. Here's his two cents on Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul:

Alex Jones, Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Paul Craig Roberts and all the other MILLIONS of Liberty Patriots have their own range of reasons for wanting to defeat what they call The New World Order run by people with names like Kissinger, Netanyahu, and Rockefeller.

You, I, and the THOUSANDS of Racial Preservation Patriots have our own range of reasons for wanting to defeat what we call The Zionist Occupation Government run by people with names like Kissinger, Netanyahu, and Rockefeller.

Together we can win. Split apart...we lose.
Charming friends you got there, Rand...

Paul officially enters race for U.S. Senate

By ROGER ALFORD - Associated Press Writer FRANKFORT — Rand Paul, the son of 2008 presidential candidate Ron Paul, ended months of speculation Wednesday by saying he will run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated next year by fellow Republican Jim Bunning. The Bowling Green ophthalmologist told The Associated Press he is entering the race and plans to run as a candidate with “outsider” credentials. Paul had been considering a campaign even before the 77-year-old Bunning announced last week that he intends to retire when his second term ends. Two other Republicans — Secretary of State Trey Grayson and western Kentucky businessman Bill Johnson — have already announced they’re running for Bunning’s seat.

Fancy Farm 2009: Plastic Spoons and Loons

It was great to be back at Fancy Farm on Saturday, the one-of-a-kind political circus where Kentucky politics tends to show its best and worst aspects every year.

This year's "episode" was largely a showcase of fresh blood from both parties. On the Republican side we had youngster Trey Grayson taking over the reigns from Jim Bunning (though still blatantly puppeted by ole Mitch). For the Democrats, the two youngsters were the squeaky clean MySpace Batman and Ken doll Jack Conway, and the eyebrow waxing hetero-hunting-coal-doctor Dan Mongiardo. Whatever the outcome of the 2010 Senate race, we're pretty much assured that at least 2 of these 3 will be among their party's leaders for the next generation.

Trey Grayson about to get teabagged?

So say the wingnuts who loved them some Jim Bunning.
With Bunning out, the stage is set for a classic confrontation between the establishment: Grayson with McConnell’s backing, either overtly or covertly -- and Dr. Rand Paul of Bowling Green, son of Rep. Ron Paul (R.-Tex.). Young Paul is a cinch to have the backing of his father’s nationwide network of donors who were the force behind Paul, Sr.’s abortive bid for the Republican presidential nomination last year. In addition, a number of party workers who loved Jim Bunning are likely to roll up their sleeves on behalf of first-time candidate Paul.

Ron Paul endorses his son for US Senate (shocker)

Grab the popcorn, because primary season in Kentucky is going to be a circus:

My son, Rand, has helped me campaign since he was 11. He and his brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews have literally knocked on thousands of doors for me.

At the age of 21, Rand debated Phil Gramm in my US Senate race in my stead. During the Presidential election he traveled to ten states giving speeches for me. He appeared on hundreds of radio programs for me. I am grateful for his contribution and very proud of the thoughtful, principled man Rand has become.

So, it is with great enthusiasm that I endorse my son Rand’s venture into electoral politics.
